These Rules govern the use of the Herpesu.net information portal. By visiting the Site, reading its materials, submitting an enquiry, or posting a comment, users agree to follow these Rules.
1. Purpose of the Site
Herpesu.net publishes informational and analytical materials about herpesvirus infections, immunology, neurology, infectious and autoimmune diseases, and related conditions.
Site materials provide general information. They are not individual medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment prescription and do not replace an in-person or remote consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
2. Safety and emergencies
The Site does not provide emergency care. In the event of a life-threatening situation, sudden deterioration, loss of consciousness, breathing difficulty, seizures, signs of stroke, a severe allergic reaction, or other emergency symptoms, contact your local emergency medical service immediately.
Do not start, stop, or change prescribed treatment solely on the basis of Site materials or other users’ comments.
3. Responsible use
Users must:
- comply with applicable law;
- communicate respectfully and refrain from harassing others;
- not disrupt the Site or attempt unauthorized access to its systems;
- not use the Site for fraud, spam, concealed advertising, or distribution of malware;
- not impersonate another person, a healthcare professional, or a Herpesu.net representative;
- not knowingly present false or dangerous information as an established medical fact.
4. Comments and discussions
Comments are intended for meaningful discussion of Site materials. Disagreement and criticism are welcome when expressed respectfully and kept relevant to the topic.
A comment may be edited, hidden, or removed if it:
- contains threats, harassment, abuse, or incitement to violence;
- promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, age, social status, health condition, or disability;
- discloses another person’s personal or medical information without a proper basis;
- contains spam, intrusive advertising, fraud, or unsafe links;
- offers the purchase, sale, or unlawful use of prescription medicines;
- promotes dangerous medical advice, discourages necessary care, or presents an unverified claim as a guaranteed cure;
- infringes copyright or other third-party rights;
- is off-topic, repeatedly duplicated, flooding, or prevents constructive discussion;
- contains obscene or explicitly indecent material without a justified context;
- otherwise violates these Rules or applicable law.
Spelling or grammar mistakes alone are not grounds for removal. Moderation focuses on meaning, safety, and user conduct.
5. Medical claims in comments
Personal experience may be useful in discussion but does not prove that a method is effective or safe for others. Users should clearly distinguish personal experience from medical facts and cite reliable sources where possible.
The Site Administration may add a warning, restrict visibility, or remove a claim that could cause harm, particularly when it concerns self-treatment, medication doses, discontinuing prescribed therapy, or treatment of children or pregnant people.
6. Personal and medical data
Do not post document numbers, a full address, phone number, email address, test results bearing a full name, or other identifying information about yourself or another person in public comments.
When sending documents through a private form or email, conceal information unnecessary to answer the request. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
7. User-submitted materials
By submitting a comment, text, image, or other material, the user confirms that they have the right to share it and that it does not infringe another person’s rights.
Users retain rights to their own material but grant Herpesu.net a non-exclusive permission to store, technically process, and display it as necessary to operate the relevant Site function. Public material may be quoted within the discussion with attribution to the author or pseudonym where appropriate.
8. Moderation and access restrictions
The Site Administration may moderate material before or after publication, close discussions, temporarily restrict commenting, or block an account for repeated or serious violations.
Moderation does not mean that every comment has been reviewed by a medical professional. A comment remaining visible does not constitute approval or confirmation of its accuracy.
Decisions may reflect context, risk of harm, repeated violations, and legal requirements. The Site Administration is not required to publicly debate every moderation decision.
9. Intellectual property
Texts, compilations, graphics, structure, and other original Site materials are protected by intellectual-property law unless stated otherwise.
Short excerpts may be quoted with an active link to the relevant page. Full copying, systematic reproduction, sale, or use of materials to train systems or populate another resource requires prior permission from the rights holder unless expressly permitted by law.
10. External links and services
The Site may contain links to or embedded content from third-party resources. Herpesu.net does not control their availability, content, security, or data practices. Users access them at their own discretion.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site Administration seeks to keep materials accurate and current but does not guarantee that the Site will be error-free, complete, or continuously available. Medical knowledge changes, and individual circumstances may differ substantially.
To the extent permitted by law, users remain responsible for decisions based on general information. Nothing in these Rules limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes and contact
The Site Administration may update these Rules when Site functions, legal requirements, or approaches to safety and moderation change. The current version is published on this page with its update date.
